Goals and Objectives for 2008-09

Goal 1: Promote Leadership in Staff, Faculty, Program and Organizational Development

Objectives
1.1 Hold an annual conference
1.2 Solicit information on innovative programs and summarize and highlight on Listserv
1.3 Solicit leaders in the field to present at the annual conference and other appropriate conferences/meetings
1.4 Create web links and network with other organizations through liaisons, conferences, and workshops regionally, statewide and nationally
1.5 Continue to mentor staff and organizational developers at all activities

Goal 2: Serve as an Advocate for Staff, Faculty and Organizational Development

Objectives
2.1 Maintain contact with the System Office
2.2 Provide information including a conference summary report to the California Community Colleges CEO’s
2.3 Sponsor workshops at appropriate conferences to promote staff and organizational development
2.4 Maintain a liaison with appropriate state and national organizations
2.5 Appoint presidential advocate to serve as a liaison to the 4C/SD Board

Goal 3: Assess and Evaluate Staff & Organizational Development Programs and Activities

Objectives
3.1 Compile learning outcomes for professional development activities and disseminate information
3.2 Provide linkages to useful resources on the website

Goal 4: Promote Innovation and Recognize Excellence in Staff & Organizational Development

Objectives
4.1 Continue the 4C/SD recognition program honoring achievement in staff development
4.2 Recognize excellence by highlighting and publicizing award winners
4.3 Gather and disseminate best practices and innovations in staff and organizational development

Goal 5: Promote Training in Development and Implementation of Effective Staff and Organizational Development Programs

Objectives
5.1 Encourage and support involvement and participation in 4C/SD and professional development
5.2 Offer topical workshops to meet the needs of the membership

Goal 6: Provide a Networking Environment for Sharing and Gathering Information about Staff and Organizational Development

Objectives
6.1 Promote the use of the 4C/SD Listserv and the 4C/SD website
6.2 Increase awareness of professional development and networking opportunities with
other organizations
6.3 Review and update the 4C/SD Handbook and materials for all 4C/SD members and
prepare for electronic dissemination
6.4 Develop a statewide staff development needs survey
6.5 Maintain the membership list on the website

Goal 7: Promote 4C/SD

Objectives
7.1 Increase membership of 4C/SD by advertising and promotion
7.2 Encourage and solicit participation of various individuals and groups in 4C/SD activities
7.3 Provide a report to the membership at the annual conference
7.4 Promote and increase visibility of 4C/SD visible at appropriate
meetings and conferences
